Statement from 2018…
From a young age, I was encouraged to express myself artistically. I can still remember my elementary school art teacher, Ms. Metzner, playing an instrumental role in the development of my artistic process. She allowed me to develop my artistic personality slowly and, as a result, I became more willing to expose my art and, in turn, who I was as a person. From West Patent Elementary School through Fox Lane High School, I took on the challenges of creating an extensive art portfolio. In 2017, I was asked by my AP art teacher, Ms. Lappin, to participate in the creation of the invitation cover for the 2018 KMA’s Young Artist Exhibit. The following year, my art piece from my AP Drawing Concentration was shown at the museum’s Young Artist Exhibit.
