DAY 5 (5/27)

DAY 5 (5/27)

At Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Bauhaus Imaginista), I saw artworks produced by Bauhaus students. I was inspired by the first exhibit of Haus der Kulturen der Welt as the artwork contained geometric and linear work. I incorporated that technique and work into my collage. I used flyers from the museum and cut them into shapes. I wanted to create vibrant and bold shapes like the students. For my map, I used watercolor to map out my journey from memorials to Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Bauhaus Imaginista). I included linear shape for the Memorial for the Murdered Jews and Memorial to Homosexuals Persecuted Under Nazism. Also, I indicated a circular structure for the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Bauhaus Imaginista) and Sinti and Romans Memorial. The journey through the Tiergarten was significant as it commemorated those murdered during World War II. The end of the journey leads me to Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Bauhaus Imaginista) which was more uplifting than the memorials. For my observations, I sat on top of Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Bauhaus Imaginista)’s balcony until it started raining. The day was gloomy and slow but significant to my learning of Berlin.
